The highly-anticipated Robo Expresso-2 Inter FGS Robotics Championship took place at FIITJEE Global School in Vellore on February 25th, 2023!

The robotics teams from FGS Chennai and FGS Vellore campus came face to face in an epic battle of brains and brawn, with a lot at stake for each team.

The event kicked off with a grand opening ceremony, graced by the esteemed presence of Dr. Asha N - a powerhouse in the field of robotics and computer applications from VIT Vellore. The atmosphere was charged with excitement as Dr. Asha lit the lamp and delivered a stirring speech, shedding light on the immense potential of robotics and its diversifying applications in various fields.

With the opening speech concluded, the Robo Expresso-2 meet was officially declared open by the waving of the checkered flag, signaling the beginning of an unforgettable event that would test the limits of creativity and innovation!

1. Robo-Kabaddi - Juniors(Grade IV to Grade VII)

Introducing "Robo-Kabaddi - The Most Exciting Game!!!"

The newest and most exciting game for junior students in grades IV to VII. This game uses a cutting-edge DPDT robo car, which is perfect for young students to build and operate using a wired joystick.

Equipped with a balloon on both its front and back ends, the robo car charges into the defender's kabaddi court. The objective is simple: successfully touch both the baulk line and the bonus line without bursting either balloon or violating any rules. And if the robot completes the challenge and returns successfully, it earns a point towards victory!

Robo-Kabaddi is a fun and engaging way for students to learn about robotics and technology while also honing their strategic thinking skills.

2. Hazard-Detector- Seniors(Grade VIII to XI)

Get ready for a thrilling challenge with "Hazard-Detector" !!!

Designed specifically for senior students in grades VIII to XI. Hazard-Detector is a line follower with an obstacle detector, which is perfect for testing the coding and hardware capabilities of senior students. It features a second-generation, autonomous vehicle model with an ARDUINO Micro-Controller Unit (MCU) coded for self-decision and control. The robot is equipped with an optical IR sensor that enables it to navigate a curved path and an ultrasonic sensor that detects obstacles on its path.

The objective of the game is to traverse the route from start to finish as quickly as possible, while stopping at hazardous places along the way. The robot that completes the challenge the fastest while also successfully detecting and avoiding hazards earns the highest score for winning.

Hazard-Detector is a great way for senior students to challenge their skills and knowledge in robotics and automation technology.

The excitement was palpable as the highly-anticipated "Expo of the Robot" event kicked off, with each team from Vellore and Chennai presenting their dazzling robotic creations in a dazzling display of innovation and ingenuity!

The air was electric with anticipation as the thrilling event "ROBO-KABBADI" kicked off, with an adrenaline-fueled battle between the junior-grade teams of FGS, CHENNAI and FGS, VELLORE! They fiercely clashed in a contest of wits and strength, determined to emerge victorious in this epic showdown.

Post this, the junior's qualifiers round for “Robo Kabbadi” took place.

And it was a thrilling spectacle to witness the Hazard Detector event unfolding simultaneously among the seniors!

A wave of excitement and anticipation swept through the crowd as the event drew to a close, and the champions were celebrated in a grand ceremony with glimmering medals and prestigious certificates bestowed upon them as a symbol of their remarkable achievement!

In the event “Robo Kabbadi”

Students from grade IV to grade VII had built a DPDT controlled racing robot.
  1. Team “UNIVERSAL RACING ROCKERS” from FGS Chennai represented by Mst. Sarvesh.S, Rohith.B.S, Mst. Dhakshin.S secured the Gold.
  2. Team “STUMBLE SQUAD” from FGS Vellorerepresented by Ms. K Shanvi reddy, Ms.G Varsha, Ms. S Thaania Bhagirathi, Ms.Harshita Vijay secured the Silver.
  3. Team “SUPER-SONIC ROBO RACERS”from FGS Chennai represented by Mst.Riishabh.S, Mst.Dhevadharshan.S, Ms.Kavinayaa.S secured the Bronze

Students from grade VIII to grade XI had built ARDUINO based Line Follower with obstacle avoid robot.

  2. Team “SUPER WARRIORS “from FGS Vellore represented by Ms. Keerthana D, Ms. Bhavana SM, Ms. Kamalikaa C, Ms.Tharinishree T secured the Silver.
  3. Team “LEO” from FGS Chennai represented by Ms. MahaLakshmi.R, Mst. Shravan.R, Mst. Yudit, Mst. Vibusha.P secured the Bronze.
Under the Category of Best Design in “Hazard Detector”,
  1. Team “FUTURE-TREASURE” from FGS Chennai represented by Mst. Dhanesh Aravind.G, Mst. Hari Keshav secured the Gold.
